Are you daydreaming about a spa day, but finding the money or the time to take yourself somewhere seems daunting? Relax and pamper yourself at home with items already in your kitchen!

Revitalize your hair with items like honey, olive oil, egg yolk (set aside the egg whites for later!) and melted coconut oil. It is not necessary to use all of these at once, and there are other ingredients that can be used, too. The banana and half an avocado that are a little too ripe are a perfect choice for a hair mask. Foods that are rich in antioxidants, vitamins and omega fatty acids are great for moisturizing and treating hair.

Get creative and make a mixture with the ingredients of your choice, utilizing amounts as you see fit for desired texture. You’ll only need about 1/3 cup of mixed ingredients (depending on how thick or thin your hair is). Once the mask is created, brush your hair and then apply over a sink. Massage your scalp and spread the love around. Use your fingers or a wide tooth comb to help get the mask on the scalp all the way down to the ends of the hair. Once applied, pin the hair up or out of the way so that it doesn’t get on your clothes. Leave the mask on for at least 30 minutes, followed by normal hair washing.

These same ingredients can be used to make a face mask. The nutrients and omegas will help moisturize and brighten your skin. Clean and exfoliate your skin before applying the mask with a simple exfoliator made of baking powder and warm water. Then, apply your mask, leave on at least 15 minutes, rinse and pat dry. Lastly, apply egg whites to face, leave on until dry, then remove with warm water. The egg whites help tighten skin and minimize pores. Apply a small amount of moisturizer at the end; try using coconut or olive oil.

While it may be difficult to get a massage without going to spa, the benefits of circulation can be achieved with an oil scrub. Make an oil scrub by mixing coconut or olive oil with coffee, sugar or Epsom salt. Mix an even ratio with the oil and your exfoliator of choice, ensuring the coconut oil is soft or melted for proper mixing. It is best to apply this right before getting into a bath or shower. Slather your mixture all over your body. The oil moisturizes and hydrates your skin, and rubbing the exfoliator helps to remove dead skin cells and improve circulation, which promotes cell regeneration and helps keep pores from getting clogged.
